Grand Caverns was discovered in 1804 by Bernard Weyer while trying to retrieve one of his  hunting traps. Weyer's Cave opened for tours in 1806, making Grand Caverns the oldest continually operating show cave in the United States. Read our story.

The five shelters at Grand Caverns are ideal for company picnics and corporate retreats.  

We host company gatherings that include Shelter Rentals, Cavern Tours, Mini-Golf and Pool Admissions. We also accommodate weddings inside the Caverns and packages for facility rentals just for weddings and other special events.

Our unique cottage is an official Grottoes Welcome Center and features our Grand Gift Shop that's filled with souvenirs ranging from stones to t-shirts.  Browse through a vast variety of rocks and minerals, as well as educational books.

The park at Grand Caverns is filled with scenic trails for hiking, running, and biking. There are also picnic shelters, a pool, a miniature golf course, an updated playground, beautiful areas for fishing; and our fitness trail featuring exercise stations with instructions at each stop. The peaceful setting at the park makes for an extra special experience here in the Shenandoah Valley!

POOL IS CLOSED FOR SUMMER 2023
Pool is open through Labor Day from 11:30 am - 6:00 pm. Now that school is back in session, the pool is closed throughout the week. The pool will remain open on Saturdays and Sundays, ending after the 3-day Labor Day weekend.

Regular - $5 per person
Resident - $4 per person

The mini-golf course is open year-round, from 9 am until 5 pm, weather permitting.
Regular - $3.00 per person for the first round
$2.00 per person for each additional round
Resident - $2.00/per person

Group Rate (parties of 12 or more): $2.00/per person
2 Years and Younger: Golf for FREE
